I love them blurry. Simply perfect.

Photo Of The Day #30

I had a terrific time at the Alameda Antique Fair (which is the first Sunday of every month). It was my first time, and I just about went crazy over everything that I saw. There just isn’t enough time in the world! Anyways, the next half dozen photos were purchased at that fair. I think [...]

Photo Of The Day #29

Monday, 03-30-2009

Date: Unknown, possibly around the late 1940’s or 1950’s. I am really only basing this on the woman’s dress.
The back is written in cursive Italian. If the Italian wasn’t hard enough to decipher already, they had to write it in chicken-scratch-cursive, too.
OK- The part I can actually make out: “AFFETO-OFRIANO GUESTA FOTO- PER- RICORDO [...]

Photo Of The Day #28

Thursday, 03-26-2009

Date: April 21, 1942
Printed by American Studio.
No other information on the back. I just LOVE this family photo, though. Really cute. I wish I took silly photos with my family, like this one. Just think…people were still finding little ways to be happy and stay happy, even amidst a World War.

Photo Of The Day #28

Wednesday, 03-25-2009

Date: Unknown, possibly around the 1950’s- 1960’s. The Kernel Sander’s Tie gives it away. These guys are pretty cool.
The only info on the photo: “J Martin AAL” and “LHC- AAW-UAL”

Photo Of The Day #27

03-24-2009

Date: Unknown, probably late 1950’s- early 1960’s
Back: “To Miss Surtinto, Forget Me Not. Sir Amuneiata G.P.” Manila, Philippines
The writing on the back was hard to read, and I am sure my guessing on the spellings is possibly incorrect.
I love the dresses….pretty ladies.

Photo of the Day #26

Sunday, 03-22-2009

Date: Unknown
No information to go along with this picture. I acquired it along with a few others (from this same time and place) at a flea market a few years ago. I believe the time frame to be around the 1940’s in a small city in China (or maybe it is now a big [...]

Photo Of The Day #25

Unknown Date, Possibly China in the 1930’s
Back caption says, “This boy, San, was running when I took the picture. He is 5 maybe 6. I would be afraid to lift the load. The load is attached to his body by means of an ‘A’ frame.”
I wonder what happened to that little boy….and whatever became [...]

Photo Of The Day #24

October 24, 1933
“The Freighted ‘Silverpalm’ of London that hit us. Note her bow.”
It really leaves me pondering, what happened.  I wonder if it was a small fender-bender or if the other boat sank (and this photo was snapped on the returning vessel.) Who knows…..maybe I just have an active imagination.

Wide Open Spaces!
There is no Information on the back of this photo. Looks to have been taken in the 1940’s or early 50’s. I am leaning more towards the 40’s from the lady’s hair-do.
